IT IS OVER!!!!
OMG
OMG
OMG
With a solid degree of greatifcation and a high level of accomplishment I/we ( Bendy and I ), have completed the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Sadly, the wifee's chose not to do the same, but we understand and respect why they went down that path.
The last day!
I went into this with a level of trepidation due to my recent Planter Fasciitis, which held up very well compared to my so called good foot. Despite all that my feet held up well enough, and after some celebratory drinkies I am in pretty good nick, but only time will tell.
To be honest we both went into the last day with a few niggles &/or concerns, so there was a fair level of apprehension. It was not as though we were not mentally or physically prepared, more a case of not falling over at the last hurdle. And there was plenty of last hurdles today - it was a full on "Vyvyan" bastard.
We set off today, not sure if it would rain or not, and as luck would have it there was none. In all honesty today, was a tad boring in parts - lots of same old, step and repeat. However, it was also a bit scary. I know that is contradictory, but that's the way it planned out. Lots of super high cliffs, with the path literally a metre or less to a sudden death drop.
We met a very few people today due to its isolation and risk factor, but we did meet a German "Superman" after yesterday's "Wonder Woman". He actually started the PCP the same day we did, but we had never crossed paths. Go figure!!!!
It was great to have my Bungee ( Mrs Twitchy), waiting for me at the finish line.
Lub Lub.
All up today was a solid 26.43 kilometres.
So this epic adventure ends.....
Loved every minute it of it - not.
It was challenging and demanding, which is what I wanted and lots of laughs. Not as good as the C2C, but that does not diminish it in any shape or form. It was a great challenge and super walk.
I had a really great time, and very proud to complete it with my old grumpy mate Bendy.
Legend.
We still have another adventure up our sleeve - watch this space, feet legs and back willing.
Woof.
