Today the soft cases ( the Eatons) and the hard cases ( the Taylors ), took slightly differing routes. Titles bestowed upon us by our delightful hostess at St Govan's country inn.
The soft cases decided to leave early to investigate the rifle range and the chapel amongst the rocks at Broadhaven, whereas the hard cases, Gailee and I decided to investigate Bosherston's Lily ponds. We missed these the day before, so we did not waste the opportunity this morning - they were delightful.
The day featured a lot of mixed topography, which included a fair number of paddocks and assorted farm animals for a change. We ended up following the Castlemartin range trail, which skirts a huge military installation. The beach at Freshwater West was huge by any standard, and has been used in many films.
It was a long day, no matter how you cut it - our biggest yet. The soft cases covered 31.7 kilometres, whereas I did about 27.5 kilometres. As predetermined, Gail left us at Freshwater West, where we met up with Bendee and Libee, the home of the famous Cafe Mor - Wales' most famous food truck.
After all my drama with my cap yesterday, Gailee managed to lose hers this morning.
What the.....
All up a big big day.
I think my foot/heel has come up OK, but is quite sore right now.
Fingers crossed.
