Twitchy ODP Day 3 - Llanarmon-yn-Ial to Berwyn ( Llangollen )

What a turn around.....

Today was sensational on many levels.
It was a real mixed bag, with variation after variation. And so much easier than yesterday, even though the distance walked was slightly less - just 23 kilometres.

This morning we had a self catered breakfast, at our little community pub, only to find the fridge had frozen our milk and strawberries 🍓 overnight. Still it was a good breakfast, for the day ahead. Big thanks to Mrs Twitchy!

The support crew dropped us back on the path, where they had met us the night before.
Yabba-Dabba-Do

So off we trudged up a big hill, just a shrunken version of the big bad hills of yesterday. Then paddock after paddock after paddock - how much cow shit can a koala bare. Escaping the cow shit we headed up a hill, only a little hill of two kilometres most of which was through some spooky woods. I love love spooky woods.

Then we broke through the tree line and all of a sudden we are on heather ladden moors for as far as the eye could see. Bit of road walking - yuk yuk, then back into a more natural Welsh forest. Following the contours out of the forest we discovered this huge rocky scree mountain side. What the!!!!
This meant very narrow ledges, with a spectacular drop. Lovely day, no wind, no drama, no deaths.

The day wrapped up slightly off the path, as we had booked two nights at the delightful Chain Bridge Hotel in Berwyn, deftly located between the river Dee and the canal. Two bloody nights - the first time we have stayed in one place for more than one night in three weeks!!! Yay!

The support crew also had a busy day visiting a stately mansion and a shopping centre. 😜
Glad I am not on the support crew!
Each to their own.

Great day all round....
Has taken me awhile to get back into the swing of things, though the never ending niggles remain.

Fosters and my old Italian favourite Moretti tonight. Slurp!
