Short blog - I am stuffed.
We knew today would be a monster challenge, and it was in every sense of the word.
It was 34.7 kilometres - man against the elements.
Great adventure, but really who wants to walk in the rain and/or strong winds, that continually blow you off balance. ????
Bendy and I set off this morning on our own, both Gailee and Libbee knew this would be a bastard of a day and decided not to partake.
Can't blame them really - they are smarter than the flogs.
Anyway the day started in the rain, coupled with further rain, but for the most part it was just cloudy and gale force winds. Everything one could ask for - NOT.
It was us against the elements and the terrain, and in the main we lost. Bendy is not good with the hills at the best of times, and we had shitloads today.
But we never gave up in the miserable conditions, and doggedly completed our mission. The rain in the middle of the day was relentless for at least an hour, completely saturating us. Twitchy had his first fall today. Fun times - NOT.
There was some filtered sunshine for about 15 minutes, on this God forsaken day. It was very limited, and short lived.
The highlight of the day, was Strumble Head light house, and the Povo picnic shelter that was in the general proximity.
It was overwhelming - NOT.
The lighthouse was nice enough, all things considered, but the covered Picnic area was shithouse. 🤮🤮
And that is where we stopped for our lunch break - living the dream.
What a dump!!
Despite our trials and tribulations we plodded into Fishguard at around 6.30pm tired and emotional. We ended up at The Pub for dinner, as we do, and celebrated our survival with a few Pints of Grolsch. 🍺🍺
Two days to go....well on this one....
Woof
