Breakfast at normal time of 0800 and on the road again after photos at about 0910.
Walked through Dale towards West Blockhouse Point and St Ann's Head. The wind appeared to have eased but we were wrong as it belted us later on as we moved further to the west.
There is an impressive fortification at West Blockhouse Point and you can stay in it (there were a couple of cars belonging to guests parked there).
The track was again a single file furrowed goat track and easy enough to walk, however the wind was relentless and was challenging in places. We walked around St Ann's Head and the lighthouses. The wind was so strong here it was whipping up chunks of 'sea foam' and blowing them over the tops of the cliffs.
10km into it we had one of those 'MasterCard moments' when Lib said "there's a castle" I told her we had done a loop around a headland and the castle was at Dale (where we had started from) - the look on her face said a thousand words and not all would be nice.
Close to the 14km mark (guide book GPS way point # 67) we left the main track and went to a cafe at Runwayskiln. Gail was there to meet us. We had a welcome pot of tea and cake before heading off for the final 6 or so Km.
The path went to Martin's Haven and then climbed back up to the east towards the Merloes exit.
After battling with a track that had loose cut broken covering it, which made it difficult to see the stones and footing underneath, we exited the path to Marloes, about 1.5 Km away. We arrived at the Clock House B&B just after 1630.
We are the only people here with an honour system for Café items and booze. We had dinner at the Lobster Pot Inn, nice meal and really rustic pub.
