Things started slowly, waking up to drizzling rain and a cold and misty morning. Not what you would call an inspiring start, but what can you do?
Left the Hotel for an 10.00am start on our first day, knowing that we won't get a late start again. Fortuitously, we broke the first day into two seperate days. We arrived at Amroth, to bleak and blustery weather, a sleepy coastal village in the middle of nowhere. Unsurprisingly, the official starting point is next to a Pub! After a few hurried photos as a misty rain settled in over the coastline and after picking up a few stones, the four of us set off in highish spirits.
We ended up doing 13.6 kilometres, pretty much hugging the coastline, with the odd bit of sand walking - Gailee's favourite. Surprisingly it was a day ( well half a day ) going up and down, up and down, up and down. Bit tough on the old knees, but shit happens. The Welsh coastline was spectacular, even in the overcast conditions.
Line of the day came from Libby....
After yet another exhausting climb up a big hill, Gailee exclaimed "I never signed up for this", and quick as a flash Lib said, yes you did, the minute you said "I do", you signed up.
Are having fun yet?
Oh yes we are.
