Twitchy ODP Day 6 - Welshpool to Mellington

Surprise Surprise
Today turned out to be a relatively short day.
22.8 kilometres in total.
Wahooo
And even better, almost no rain as we had expected, not that we escaped the wet stuff completely. Our sodden boots are testament to that.

The support crew dropped us off back outside Welshpool to pick up the path where we left off yesterday, adjacent to Buttington Wharf.

So Bendy and I headed off back towards Offa's Dyke Path, which took all of ten minutes.
Once back on track we got straight into it, as we had a big big hill to climb.
And what a mofo it was too.

Halfway up in the hill, we got trapped in a narrow lane way with a monster tractor boring down on us - as luck would have it there was a break in the hedgerow. The Tractor was all business, tourists clearly are superfluous on the Dyke.

And on we pressed, with sweat pouring out of us.  Surprisingly, after some heavy rain last night is was extremely humid.

Beacon Ring was the highlight of the day, on a day of very few highlights.

On the way down we came across a Pheasant breeding farm, and some lovely forest walks.
And steps - that go up!

The last half of the walk was pretty boring - 12 kilometres of straight boring paddocks. Pfft! However, on a positive light, Limpee and Jane met us at Kingswood, so for the first time on the Dyke we had some walking company. Gailee remained the only member of the support crew left standing.

We moved in out of Wales and England regularly today, which is now becoming the norm.

Whilst we got off lightly today weather wise, tomorrow afternoon is not looking good.

Three more days to our rest day.
Yay!
